John P. (Pat) Ways

Pat Ways is the President of Ways Consulting Services, LLC, where he assists companies in strategic and tactical business development activities with the U.S. federal government. Before starting his own company, Mr. Ways spent 40 years in technical and management positions with Computer Sciences Corporation, IBM and Westinghouse.

He retired as the President of Business Development for CSC's Federal Sector in 2003. In that position, he was responsible for the management of all business development activities relating the U.S. federal government. Prior to the position as President, Mr. Ways served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for the CSC's Civil Agencies Group. Before joining CSC in 1992, he spent 27 years with IBM's Federal Systems Division in numerous technical, management and marketing assignments. In his last position with IBM, he was the Business Unit Executive responsible for all IBM marketing activities to the U.S. Department of Transportation and to government banking and regulatory agencies. He was also responsible for marketing IBM's air traffic control expertise to civil aviation authorities worldwide. Mr. Ways began his professional career in 1963 with Westinghouse Corporation as an engineer and, in 1965, joined IBM as a programmer on the NASA Gemini program at the Goddard Space Flight Center.

He has served on the boards of the Armed Forces Electronics Association (AFCEA) the National Space Club and the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association (GEIA) where he acted for two years as vice-chair. Mr. Ways has also received two Federal 100 awards from Federal Computer Week.

Mr. Ways hold a B.S. degree in Physics from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD.
